Dr Eleni Kalantidou

Research Lead

Dr Eleni Kalantidou is Greek-Australian design psychologist, senior lecturer and program director of the Master of Design, Griffith University. Through her research projects, Kalantidou investigates community-led behavioural change, repair, and community transitions within conditions of climate change. She has collaborated as a researcher and consultant with a number of international, national, and local NGOs, the Queensland Government, and the Brisbane City Council. Kalantidou is the author of Introduction to Design Psychology (Routledge, 2024) and co-editor of Design/Repair: Place, Practice & Community (Palgrave, 2023).

Youth Facilitator Lead (First Nations)

Joshua Brown – a Gamilaraay man who is an artist, cultural educator and trainer. He has worked collaboratively with the Queensland Police Service, Youth Justice, Education QLD and the community sector to develop cultural safety, culturally safe referral pathways and cultural programs for at-risk Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people and their families. He holds various trade-based certificates and is an experienced mental health worker. Joshua is respected artist, known for his paintings and sculptural works. His bold and expressionistic style  blends traditional aboriginal art and story-telling with contemporary motifs reflective of his life and work.

Simone is a dedicated youth worker with over 10 years of experience in youth justice, specialising in trauma-informed care for young people impacted by childhood trauma. She believes in creating a safe and supportive environment where young people can heal and grow from their past experiences. Trained in the RAGE Anger Management Program, Simone helps youth struggling with emotional control. Her unique approach to behaviour change incorporates Lived Experience principles, guiding young people to recognise their anger, identify triggers, and develop healthy coping strategies. Committed to empowering youth, Simone fosters positive life choices through trust-based relationships with young people, families, and communities. Her mission is to create spaces for meaningful healing and growth.

Aunty Jodie Collins – Aunty Jodie is a proud Wakka Wakka and Gubbi Gubbi/Kabi Kabi woman who is deeply committed to empowering her local community and young people to thrive in enriched and nurturing learning environments. Aunty Jodie is an early years educator at Unndennoo Kindergarten in Maryborough.

Having worked many years for Lady Gowrie, she is committed to delivering client-focused early childhood and parent support services in Queensland, and driving excellence and innovation in early years service delivery for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth, as well as education and care for children and families from all cultures, circumstances and backgrounds. Aunty Jodie is committed to building positive and enduring relationships with children, young people, families, the local community.

Youth and Indigenous Cultural Support

Dale Artango is a dedicated mental health and crisis support professional with a strong background in providing compassionate care to individuals with diverse mental health conditions, including bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, anxiety, and depression. Experienced as a Crisis Support Worker at St Vincent Men’s Crisis Centre in Townsville, Dale has a proven track record in offering emotional support and practical assistance, empowering clients to enhance their quality of life in a safe, non-judgmental environment.

In his role as a Duty Officer with Bluecare, he collaborated with a multi-disciplinary team at the Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Unit, guiding clients through their recovery journey. Known for his teamwork, punctuality, and strong organisational skills, Dale is adept at maintaining confidentiality, making sound decisions, and managing time effectively. His experience also includes individualised programming to address social and emotional barriers for clients with disability.

With a family origins from Papua New Guinea, Dale is an internationally known retired professional boxer inducted into the Queensland Boxing Hall of Fame in 2012.

Dr Jandamarra Cadd – a Yorta Yorta and Dja Dja Warung descendant, is an inspirational man with many stories to tell. With his vibrant and expressive portraits, Jandamarra’s artwork is emotive and insightful – and is a powerful medium to bridge the story telling divide between Aboriginal and mainstream Australia. Painting has been a way of life that has enabled him to express his creativity and storytelling and in many of his paintings of the human condition, he seeks to be a peaceful voice for unity. Jandamarra uses a variety of styles and mediums; with his unique blend of traditional aboriginal art techniques along with his own signature contemporary portraiture. Jandamarra has not only been a finalist in every major Portrait Art Prize in Australia, but is also in very high demand as a Speaker and Ambassador.
